Hello

From a young age I have been interested in travel. This I’m sure, stems from my dad, as it is always something that has interested him and both my brother and I have continued this attribute. My grandfather was in the Royal Marines and evidently he travelled extensively for the almost 20 years he was a Royal Marine, so it appears to be in my family DNA.

Many years ago, I bought a t-shirt with the quote from St Augustine on the front- ‘The world is a book and those who do not travel, read only one page’. That really struck me and my desire to travel to faraway lands, learning about different cultures and extending my knowledge of my favourite subject- geography, grew stronger.

When you travel, especially to different cultures, you’re forced to confront worldviews and customs that differ from your own. If you immerse yourself, talk to locals, and attempt to understand history, politics, art and culture, you are much more likely to come away changed and the desire to explore other parts of this wonderful blue planet intensifies.

I was beyond excited as we planned our adventure exploring Western Canada, the second largest country in the world, with the friendliest, and most polite people I have ever met as our guides. It was more than I ever imagined, and at times, it was like I had been there for years, as the Canadian welcome and hospitably is truly fabulous, and I felt very much at home.

If you are considering going, maybe as I share our experiences, I can inspire you too. Get planning and booking- Go and make wonderful Canadian memories too.

Happy exploring,

Darren.
